Class of 2021
Celeste O’Connor is currently an actress and all around creative! Her recent projects include films like Ghostbusters: Afterlife (2021), Freaky (2020), and Selah and the Spades (2019). She also co-founded Pedestal, a Media & Production Company based in NYC, with fellow Hopkins alumni and entrepreneur Mecca McDonald. We can’t wait to see what the future holds for Celeste!
Class of 2020
Genevieve “Genny” Thomas is currently in a girl group called SZNS, in which each member's stage name is a different season (hers is Autumn!). As of April 2022, SZNS has 5 singles out, the most streamed one being "Tequila w Lime" at over 2 million streams! Though she's a big star now, Genny's still in touch with several members of the Mental Notes and even bought us pizza to celebrate our Fall 2021 concert!
Class of 2014
During her time at Hopkins, Lucie was a very active member of the Mental Notes and even became president for a period of time. Though she was studying neuroscience while on the pre-med track, she loved making videos and ended up creating a YouTube series for the admissions office during her freshman year. By the time she graduated, Lucie had made several appearances on NBC’s Today Show, and ultimately turned the videos she had made into a portfolio to land her first job at Ogilvy. From there she landed a job at Refinery29, and after a few years there, she decided to launch a media company. The rest is history!

Class of 2011
Emma Brodie is currently an Executive Editor at Little Brown’s Voracious imprint. During her time in the Mental Notes, she befriended and became a bit of a mentor to fellow notable alumni Lucie Fink, and they’re still friends to this day. Since her time at Hopkins, Emma has spent over ten years in book publishing, working at places such as Trident Media Group, William Morrow, and Clarkson Potter, where she authored over twenty gift books and games, including bestsellers like Punderdome, Deal or Duel, Come As You Aren’t, and Dear Jane. She’s also published authors including Awkwafina, Anna Drezen, Nathan W. Pyle, and many more!
